We are offering several opportunities to help write postcards to voters to encourage them to vote in the November Election at our Sumter Democratic headquarters, 300 South Main St., Wildwood.  There is only one location and this will be in-person events. On October 1st, we will be sending cards to encourage Florida voters in November.  We will send to Sumter, Calhoun, Columbia, Dixie, Hardee, Holmes, Lafayette, Liberty, Marion 3050 and Union counties.  There will be 4 2-hour shifts and the cards will be sent to mostly Democrats but also likely left leaning No Party Affiliates as well as Republicans, Independents and Others that have relatively high Democratic support scores.  On October 1st, there will be some stations that require limited handwriting while others will be pasting labels and stamps.  All supplies and stamps will be provided for this campaign. On September 21st and October 5th, 7th and 14th, postcards will be written for turnout for Progressives and the procedures will be slightly different.  We will be using the “Progressive Turnout Project - Postcards to Swing States” for Florida, Iowa and Texas voters. Each volunteer will do 12 to 20 postcards and is asked to contribute $13 to help offset the cost of the postcard stamps and postcards. If you can 1) write/print legibly and  2) are able to write the provided note on 12-20 postcards, and  3) have the time to join us for an hour or two. Each volunteer should pick one or more dates to hand write postcards for an hour and a half, bring their favorite pen, be prepared to write 15-20 postcards and to donate $13 for stamps. There will be an organizer there to orient postcard writers with the required postcard script, how to address, and they stick the stamp on it (everyone started with 12 postcards, and given more as they finish them during this 2 hour event time).

The Democratic Women's Club of Sumter County meets every 3rd Thursday from 5:30to7:00pm at the Sumter Democratic Party HQ at 300 S Main St in Wildwood.

Dear Hard Workers, The Bushnell Fall Festival is approaching, and it requires volunteers to staff the four shifts.   We are doing this activity for Community Outreach.  Remember that many registered Democrats do not think there are ANY other Democrats in this deeply RED county!  Let's prove them wrong!! We are asking for volunteers to come to our tent for a two hour shift on Saturday the 17th of October!   Shifts are:   9 AM to 11AM (the set-up crew),  11AM to 1PM,  1PM to 3PM, and  3 PM to 5PM (the take-down crew). My husband, Richard, and I will be there most of the time!
